Why G1bo?

I think, therefore I am for G1BO.

Thanks buddy!
IMPORTANT: Please read in its entirety. Don't skip!

Let me break it down for you.

There's quite a number of things to consider. Let us enumerate (take note that this is without any intent of negative campaigning against anyone, particularly Sen. Aquino):

1.) AS A PERSON:

I admit, I was almost swept with the Noynoy Aquino bandwagon out of desperation and lack of choices back in October last year. There was only Sen. Manny Villar, Joseph Estrada, and I think Bro. Eddie Villanueva. Out of the question, Noynoy was the only respectable choice. Noynoy was the "lesser evil", as Mr. Conrado de Quiros of Inquirer would tell you. With Noynoyin Malacañan, the Filipino people can sleep soundly, knowing that the person occupying the presidency is not  hatching some new scheme with close relatives and cronies to capture some fat government contract or corner some lucrative part of the nation’s business.

Then came in Teodoro.

Like his second cousin Noynoy Aquino, the candidate of Lakas-Kampi-CMD, Gibo Teodoro was brought up properly — in an environment of honesty and righteousness — and appears incapable of dark thoughts about the moneymaking possibilities of the presidency.

Gibo’s father, Gilberto Teodoro Sr., was said to be a paragon of honesty during his 20-year stewardship of the Social Security System (Marcos regime). As the old saying goes, fruit cannot fall very far from the tree.

But let us give the benefit of the doubt to Noynoy.

SCORE: Gibo: 0, Noynoy: 1

2.) TRACK RECORD:

Gibo in his 9 years as Congressman of Tarlac, filed more than 500 bills and passed into law 6. Sen. Aquino in his 3 terms as representative and 3 years in Senate passed into law, 0 bills (only 8 filed). No contest.

SCORE: Gibo: 1, Noynoy: 1

3.) EDUCATION/COMPETENCY:

Teodoro graduated from De La Salle University with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Commerce, Major in Management of Financial Institutions. He also holds a law degree from the University of the Philippines, and a master’s degree from the Harvard Law School in the US. Teodoro topped the bar exams in 1989, becoming one of the youngest bar topnotchers in the country. He also took and passed the New York State Bar exams in 1997. Aquino graduated Commerce in the Ateneo.

Better speaker no doubt is Gibo, he's also more competent in a lot of areas like handling insurgency issues and national calamities (he was with the Air Force reserves and was Secretary of the Department of National Defense and National Disaster Coordinating Council).

SCORE: Gibo: 2, Noynoy: 1

4.) POLITICAL PARTY:

Gibo is with Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's Lakas Kampi-CMD (although there are rumors about Manny Villar being her personal choice, but that's another story altogether); Noynoy is with the Liberal Party, more commonly known as the party of "balimbings".

Tough call, but let's give it to Aquino.

SCORE: Gibo: 2, Noynoy: 2

5.) CAMPAIGN:
Noynoy uses his parent's legacy too much, with his campaign slogan "Ituloy ang Laban". No concrete platforms save for "eliminating corruption".

Teodoro has promised to develop compensation and reward packages for government employees to reduce corruption, and to strengthen our police and military forces to push insurgencies/private armies to a screeching halt and for real peace and order, then the foreign investors would start coming back.

SCORE: Gibo: 3, Noynoy: 2

6.) CONTROVERSIES

Noynoy has yet to answer about the SCTEX kickbacks to the Cojuancos (amounting 50 million allegedly to fund his 2007 senatorial campaign), and resolve the Hacienda Luisita massacres/land distribution. Gibo has absolutely have nothing to do with the Hacianda as Gibo's family is not a shareholder. There are also no real controversy revolving him, is there?

SCORE: Gibo: 4, Noynoy: 2

So there you go. Win or lose, my vote goes to Teodoro. It's G1BO or bust.

Anything I missed? Feel free to comment/disagree.

Remember, THE POPULAR VOTE, ESPECIALLY ON SURVEYS AND TV ADS & MEDIA IS NOT ALWAYS THE RIGHT ONE. LET'S THINK ABOUT THIS, GIVE OURSELVES A TIME TO REFLECT!
