An Emmy Award, often referred to simply as the Emmy, is a television production award, similar in nature to the Peabody Awards but more focused on entertainment, and is considered the television equivalent to the Academy Awards (for film) and the Grammy Awards (for music).

This year, the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards or the Primetime Emmy Awards 2011, presented by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, will take place at the Nokia Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles, California on September 18, 2011 PST televised via FOX Channel.

A youtube video has taken controversy up into the next level for wooing that the claimed couple is no longer tied up. The reason? Because Selena caught Justin texting ex-girlfriend Jasmine Villegas. That would be a reasonable cause for a split, no doubt - and this guy runs with it below in order to make his pitch to Gomez.

Amy Winehouse Aged 27 Found Dead in London Home

The Grammy award-winning soul, singer with her trademark beehive hairstyle, was found dead at her London flat on Saturday at the age of 27.

Fans began to gather and lay flowers candles and teddy bears at the police cordon outside her home in Camden, north London. Fellow stars and friends voiced their shock and mourning at Amy Winehouse's death.

The road outside her house has been cordoned off and forensic officers were seen going in and out of the building.

Tributes far from different personalities had start to pour in for Winehouse. Her close friend, Mark Ronson, who produced Back to Black, said: "She was my musical soulmate and like a sister to me. This is one of the saddest days of my life."

Kelly Osbourne wrote: "i cant even breath right now, im crying so hard i just lost 1 of my best friends. i love you forever Amy & will never forget the real you!"

Winehouse had suffered a well-publicised battle with drink and drug abuse that saw her withdraw from all of her scheduled performances last month after a series of erratic performances. She started her 12-leg European tour in Belgrade but was booed off the stage after appearing to forget her lyrics. She then pulled out of performances in Istanbul and Athens before she cancelled the tour as fears for her health grew.

Winehouse rose to fame with her debut album Frank in 2003, which was feted by music critics in the UK and nominated for the Mercury music prize, but it was her 2006 follow-up album, Back to Black, that catapulted her to stardom and led to five Grammy awards. The album became the third-highest selling album of the 2000s.

Personally speaking, yes, I must admit it, I broke into tears when I think about the Harry Potter series coming to its final installment. The rest of HP following worldwide is sad thinking about this as their last journey being with Harry Potter, Hogwarts and his magical world. The final film in the series, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2, is released on 15 July, and while we can’t wait to see it, we’re gutted that after this there won’t be any new films to get excited about.

Lady Gaga's 'Judas', An Attack on Religious Groups?

It's undeniable, almost anything Lady Gaga does will spark some sort of controversy. Including this new video "Judas" which is, according to them, filled with biblical imagery that is currently the topic on tv news and debates all around the world, Gaga says she is not trying to anger any religious groups.

According to an article from MTV.com, Gaga explained that
it "is not meant to be an attack on religion. I respect and love everyone's beliefs." She expressed similar sentiments several times leading up to the premiere of "Judas," declaring that "it's meant more to celebrate faith than it is to challenge it."

"To the religious groups, I don't even know that there's religious [stuff in there]," she explained. "I'm like, you know, Jesus did have a crown of thrones, he did die for my sins. I'm a believer, so I say to them, those religious people, personally, I can't speak for Gaga, but as a director, a choreographer, as a believer, I say, 'Take a look at yourself.' For me, I would never [defame] my savior and the love and the non-judgment of what Jesus means to me. So I say, 'Take a closer look at why you're judging.' " says Laurieann Gibson, who co-directed the video with Gaga.

Gibson furthermore explains, "The discussions were massive, the concepts were many prior to landing on a place. They were just exciting, full of passion. It was a magical process and we're really proud of where we ended up.

"I think the concept stuck with this one because ultimately there was a place where we wanted to leave the interpretation up to each individual and not take away [Gaga's] power as a performer, as a dancer, as a star," she continued. "And to leave the moments for you to interpret, and be inspired by the fact that everyone has a Judas in their life and there is a place of deliverance."

Elizabeth Olson: Hollywood Debut in “Martha Marcy May Marlene”

The younger sister of the infamous twins Mark Kate & Ashley is looking to make a name for herself in Hollywood. Elizabeth Olsen will be acting in an indie drama called “Martha Marcy May Marlene.” You can learn all about this 21 year old, with more photos and video, below.

She will play a girl who runs away to her sister’s after leaving a cult. Apparently the younger sibling just finished another big screen feature “Peace, Love & Misunderstanding,” who had some decently big names in it. Will she break out of our sisters’ shadows and be her own star?

ABC Announces Dancing With the Stars Season 11 Cast

The contestants for the 11th season of Dancing With the Stars were named during the Bachelor Pad episode.


The men will include:
Michael Bolton, The Situation, David Hasselhoff, Kurt Warner, Kyle Massey, and Rick Fox.


And the ladies will be:
Brandy, Jennifer Grey, Margaret Cho, Audrina Patridge, Florence Henderson, and Bristol Palin.


I think The Situation, Hasselhoff, Fox, Brandy, J-Grey are early favorites to win.

The 2010 Emmy Winners!

I'm still surprised by some of the unexpected winners. The voters gave much significance to several new shows, with Modern Family winning the big award for outstanding comedy series (and a win for Eric Stonestreet!). Repeat honorees also shone back, with the cast of Mad Men and Bryan Cranston both taking the stage for a third time.

A  fun musical number was given by Jimmy Fallon and the night had several laugh-out-loud moments  including George Clooney's Modern Family video cameo was a fave.

New Comedy Show 'Big Lake' Tries to Be Extraordinary But Failed

Shows just come and go, but there are those shows who would really last for quite lengthy years. But there are those would would really fall short out of what has been expected.

Here comes 'Big Lake', Comedy Central's first attempt at a multi-camera, live-audience sitcom falls short for a couple of reasons. Most importantly, it's just not funny. The two episodes that CC sent for review, which air back-to-back tonight at 10PM ET, barely poured out some laughs from most audiences as what most reviews in the net right now are saying. It also fails in trying to establish an edgier form of the traditional sitcom as what one writer from TVSquad says. Moreover, accdg to Joel Keller, TVSquad's known writer, "the show fails to mine its subject matter for deeper satire about the recession, going home after a fall from grace, and the fallacy of trusting people who say they can make you rich."

PLOT:
Chris Gethard plays Josh Franklin, a young financial whiz who was living the good life in New York until the fund he was managing collapsed, he was fired, and the brokerage he worked for went under. Think Lehman Brothers with a hint of Bernie Madoff, and you'll get the idea.

Josh goes back to his Pennsylvania hometown and moves in with his parents (James Rebhorn, Deborah Rush). He lost their retirement savings in the collapse, a fact his bitter father reminds him of every single day. Once back, he reconnects with his immature buddy Glenn (Horatio Sanz) and his old history teacher Mr. Henkel (Chris Parnell). Oh, and he finds out that his little brother Jeremy (Dylan Blue) isn't the squeaky-clean lisping teenager he portrays to their parents.

'Big Lake' tries to come off as an old-fashioned '70s or '80s sitcom that pushes the edges of Comedy Central's standards, but for some reason the attempt feels forced. When Josh sincerely tells his dad he'll do whatever it takes to make back the money he lost for his parents, Josh's dad says "F--- you." Jeremy is a latter-day Scarface, dealing in Ecstasy, answers to tests, and pretty much any other criminal endeavor happening in Big Lake. Mr. Henkel is burned out and spends his time popping pills and putting together conspiracy theories. Glenn tries to open a museum in his house when he thinks it was the childhood home of Lee Harvey Oswald.

Comedy Central I think needs to decide whether they want the show to last long and be edgy not for edgy's sake but to give out some funny lines 'with some edge' because if it isn't, their audience just isn't going to be there for the long haul. Writers of the show are all flattened by a forced joke line patterns which they "think" what the show is needing because it was a live-audience show. Not all jokes that are good to laught should be scripted or SHOULD be on papers. Most jokes that are reasonable enough to give us some burst of laughter are those smart jokes that those actors blow off as one-liners.

Topping the list, of course (hands down), is young superstar Justin Bieber who recently won Choice Male Artist, Choice Breakout Artist Male and Choice Summer Music Star in the recently concluded Teen Choice Awards.

Second in their list is the star of Twilight Taylor Lautner who outshone his co-star Robert Pattinson at the Teen Choice Awards. Pattinson is at no. 7 in the Popstar list.

Multimedia artists occupied the 3rd to 6th slot namely Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, The Jonas Brothers and Selena Gomez. These four have movies and tv shows of their own aside from being successful recording artists.

Charice is at no. 38. She outranked High School Musical’s Ashley Tisdale (#46) and Vanessa Hudgens (#51). She also ranked higher than Katy Perry (#50), the reigning American Idol Lee Dewyze (#56) and her friend David Archuleta (#60).

MTV's 'Jersey Shore' star Ronnie Ortiz Arrested

'Jersey Shore' star Ronnie arrested by Seaside Heights police, reportedly for unpaid parking tickets.

Ronald "Ronnie" Ortiz, 24, was taken into custody by police on Sunday for outstanding warrants, the New Jersey Star-Ledger reports.



Picked up at the Jersey Shore cast's house by cops in an unmarked squad car, Ortiz was arrested calmly and without handcuffs.

"On August 15, 2010, Ronald Ortiz was placed under arrest for outstanding warrants from two separate jurisdictions," the Seaside Heights PD confirmed in a statement to RadarOnline.com.

"Mr. Ortiz was transported to the Seaside Heights Police Department where he was processed and later released after satisfying the conditions of these warrants."

Dina Lohan about Lindsay Lohan upfront with NBC

Lindsay Lohan's mom says the actress will be moving away from California and back to New York after she gets out of drug rehabilitation.

Dina Lohan, during an often tense interview with NBC "Today" show co-host Matt Lauer on Friday, said her daughter was doing "wonderfully" after 14 days in jail and lashed out at California Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel, who put the actress there.

"Lindsay was in with alleged murderers and she's become friends with a lot of them. Lindsay rolled with the punches and she's doing wonderfully." her mom said.

Lindsay Lohan served 14 days of a 90-day jail sentence for violating her probation in a 2007 drug case. She was sent to a UCLA drug rehab facility for a court-mandated three-month treatment, and her mother said she'd be out soon.



Lauer prodded Lohan, noting that there were some observers who thought the 24-year-old actress had this coming to her because of bad behavior.

Lauer also asked her about a belief that her daughter was not well-served by those around her, including her parents.

Michael Lohan said in an interview Friday on CBS' "The Early Show" that his ex-wife should be out of their daughter's career "and I shouldn't be any part of her career. I never was. I never was a manager or anything."

Dina Lohan said she had put her daughter in drug rehab the first time, and argued with Lauer over how many times Lindsay had been in drug treatment.

She said her daughter's life has been under a microscope because of tabloid interest.

"You can't blame it all on the tabloids," Lauer said. "She's made some wrong decisions."

Lohan said Lindsay will be coming to New York. California is "a wonderful state," she said, but "it's a different game you play there, the court system is a little different." 

Actress Brittany Murphy dies in LA at age 32

LOS ANGELES – The unexpected death of 32-year-old Brittany Murphy, who gained fame in such movies as "8 Mile" and "Just Married," appeared to be from natural causes but police are investigating, officials said.

Murphy died about 10 a.m. Sunday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, according to the hospital.


She was transported to the medical center after the Fire Department responded to a call at 8 a.m. at the home she shared with her husband, British screenwriter Simon Monjack, in the Hollywood Hills.

Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said Murphy apparently collapsed in the bathroom, and authorities were looking into her medical history.

An official cause of death may not be determined for some time, since toxicology tests will be required, but "it appears to be natural," Winter said. He said an autopsy was planned for Monday or Tuesday.

Los Angeles police have opened an investigation into Murphy's death, Officer Norma Eisenman said. Detectives and coroner's officials were at Murphy and Monjack's home Sunday afternoon but did not talk to reporters. Paparazzi were camped outside the multistory home, located above the Sunset Strip.

Neighbor Clare Staples said she saw firefighters working to resuscitate the actress Sunday morning. She said Murphy was on a stretcher.

Murphy's husband, wearing pajama bottoms and no shoes, appeared "dazed" as firefighters tried to save her, Staples said. "It's just tragic," she added.

Murphy's publicist, Nicole Perna, said in a statement: "In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support. It is their wish that you respect their privacy."

Messages left for Murphy's manager and agent by The Associated Press were not immediately returned.

Murphy's father, Angelo Bertolotti, said he learned of her death from his son, the actress's brother, and was stunned.

"She was just an absolute doll since she was born," Bertolotti said from his Branford, Fla., home. "Her personality was always outward. Everybody loved her — people that made movies with her, people on a cruise — they all loved her. She was just a regular gal."

He said he hadn't heard much about the circumstances of Murphy's death. Bertolotti divorced her mother when Murphy was young and hadn't seen Murphy in the past few years.

"She was just talented," Bertolotti said. "And I loved her very much."

Born Nov. 10, 1977, in Atlanta, Murphy grew up in New Jersey and later moved with her mother to Los Angeles to pursue acting.

Her career started in the early 1990s with small roles in television series, commercials and movies. She is best known for parts in "Girl, Interrupted," "Clueless" and "8 Mile."

Her on-screen work had lessened of late, but Murphy's voice gave life to numerous animated characters, including Luanne Platter on more than 200 episodes of Fox's "King of the Hill" and Gloria the penguin in the 2006 feature "Happy Feet."

She is due to appear in Sylvester Stallone's upcoming film, "The Expendables," set for release next year.

Her role in "8 Mile" led to more recognition, Murphy told AP in 2003. "That changed a lot," she said. "That was the difference between people knowing my first and last name as opposed to not."

Murphy credited her mother, Sharon, with being a key to her success.

"When I asked my mom to move to California, she sold everything and moved out here for me," Murphy said. "I was really grateful to have grown up in an environment that was conducive to creating and didn't stifle any of that. She always believed in me."

She dated Ashton Kutcher, who costarred with Murphy in 2003's romantic comedy "Just Married."

Kutcher sent a message on Twitter Sunday morning about Murphy's death: "2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine," Kutcher wrote. "My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany's family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon."

Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
