Venus Raj's "Major Major", The Hottest 'Major' Trend Online and Offline

Yesterday, I woke up finding all those tweets that the Miss Universe pageant is commencing. I decided to browse online for some streaming sites that I would be able to watch the said pageant. I was looking forward to the question and answer portion, making this is the last hurdle to the beauties ambition for the crown. in Statement in Miss Universe 2010 Q&A Portion, Venus Raj answer of The Philippines' “major, major” answer during the interview portion in the Miss Universe 2010 pageant in Las Vegas is the fact that her top-five finish was the country’s first since 1999 when Miriam Quiambao placed second. To think that this young woman from Bato, Camarines Sur, was dethroned briefly, and the Philippines almost lost the chance to be represented by the determined candidate.  Traditional beauty contest powerhouses Venezuela and USA were shut out as early as the semifinals for the first time in many years. Raj was also the only Asian candidate to make it to the top 15 this year.

Present and occuring on Facebook and Twitter, comments and tweets by Filipino's  stressed that Raj’s fourth runner-up showing was a welcome, if temporary, diversion from Monday’s grim hostage-taking incident in Manila and its aftermath. Malacañang said on a statement that Venus' success is a bright spot in an otherwise sad day for the country. For hundreds of Filipinos who came from all over the world to cheer the Bicolana bet, waving Philippine flags expressing support for her evoked priceless camaraderie and patriotism.

This time, Venus Raj gave the Philippines two major major reasons to smile about and be proud of. It all happened during the pageant's Top 5 Q & A portion.



1.  Taking home the fourth runner up title from the 2010 Miss Universe pageant -- at least.
2. A new catch phrase

Practically just seconds after Venus Raj uttered it, "Major, Major" became a Worldwide Trending Topic on the social networking site. A topic achieves worldwide trending on Twitter when a considerable number of tweeps from across the planet tweet about it at the same time. And for 'Major, Major' to achieve this, it only means that it's being tweeted about not just in the Philippines, but the world over.

Following the unquestionable Twitter success of Raj's coined phrase, a lot of cyber-individuals are  well-convinced that "Major, Major" is now the hottest catch phrase in town,. "Major, Major" is now beating  "Bonggang-Bongga", "Char-char"  and "Over-Over" as its fame rises up.

All I known, Venus wanted to do at that point was to make sure she gives what she thinks is the best answer to the question. But for reason, a sudden catchy  phrase blurted out from her as a response caught the interest of the online world.
